i'm still kidding myself that spring and summer will eventually arrive so am still planning ahead for some driving in the indy.
one of the things that annoyed me driving it last year was the chill from the wind hitting my chest/neck area. fitting a screen isn't really a
option and i've already got an aero screen fitted but it doesn't make a huge diference.
been thinking about bikers jackets but they all look a bit bulky and i'm not the smallest of guys as it is already!
are race suits windproof at all? quite fancy getting one for trackdays anyway so if they are windproof then i could just wear that under a jumper so
as to not look a tit when driving around town
recomendations please
Stuff designed for cycling should cut out most of the wind - and be pretty light and thin...
I got a windproof coat from an outdoorsy type shop. It works well upto 60 MPH but on a cold evening, you can feel the wind at 70. I also wear a motorcycle helmet unless it is a warm afternoon.
I bought a waterproof jacket and trousers from a local motorbike shop - they're the sort that bikers wear to keep their leathers dry. No padding
or protection.
They're made of some form of nylon material - the jacket zips right up, and has a windproof zip arrangement - keeps the wind and rain out, but
offers no warmth at all. I wear a fleece underneath which I find warm enough. I haven't had the need to wear the trousers yet!
The only bit of me that gets cold is my hands - haven't got that sorted yet. My hands were bleedin' freezin' this morning

Did the job for me.

like avon said, a kneck tube about a fiver and akito do a budget motorcycle jacket,i have one, it cost 65.00 , as for car use the back, arm, and shoulder pads a what makes them bulky and they can all be removed from the inside, plus when gets warmer you can unzip a winter coat padding thats inside, it keeps me warm in the winter doing 100+ on a motorcycle and is tottally water proof, and avalible in red/blue/grey or black
If it's really cold (like -2 deg) I use my bike waterproofs - one piece and plastic. keeps the wind out. Also have a thing that covers nose down
to neck (so tucks into jacket) with velcro fastening. Also my Arai helmet has a chin spoiler which I can lower.

Try Millets! I have a bikers jacket and it is pretty bulky.
I have a neck fleece tube thingy - £3.95 from a skiwear shop - and one of the Locost fleeces that Scutter got made up. The fleece is reversible and
has a water- and windproof lining. It is a Result model R16, if you want to search for it. Totally windproof (up to the speeds I have done...) and
some inherent warmth from the fleece.
Head-wise, I have been wearing a motorbike helmet plus a silk helmet balaclava which was about £5 from a local motorbike accessory shop.
We use our MUSTO sailing jackets!!!! warm and windproof no bulk at all and breathable very light weight.
If we can be toasty in the middle of a force 6 North Sea Gale whilst having waves break over us, a blat in the seven at 70 is a breeze. Gill, Helly
Hanson, Musto are all good brands
