Is it just a new bottom wishbone needed or is there more damage?
What did you hit????
....and do those wind deflectors on your screen work?
OMG bang it out with a tapping mallet it will be fine , hope the lower wishbone was the only damage r new ones expensive from MK
I haven't got it apart yet but on first inspection it looks like I might have got away with just the wishbone. I might replace the ball joint
too.
I went over a red and white kerb just before hitting the brakes for a 90 deg right hander but the kerb meant I was slightly airbourne which meant that
the brakes didn't do much
I started to turn but went hard into a gravel trap bank with the wheel and then sailed over the top of the gravel sideways to land with a bump.
Oddly the engine wouldn't start after that but I'm guessing that I got some gravel in the cam belt and it has jumped a few teeth.
And my head gasket seems to be going
The wind deflector helps a lot with the buffeting, it keeps cracking the perspex though so not the full solution to the problem.

Hope its just the wishbone, if so its an easy fix.

Thnx for the deflector info. Maybe big washers would help it not to crack.
Makes fitting a screen more tempting!
Sorry to hear that Mark. Doesnt look too bad though, i think you were lucky that time.
Looks like you may have found a weak point under extreme conditions, i have a sneaky feeling that you will mod the new pair before fitting.
There is a slim chance that i might be travelling on Wednesday (waiting for my customer to confirm). If so i may be able to collect new 'bones
for you if it helps. Just let me know if i can help.

I need some testing done on the durability since macs car is for sale and mines not ready.
There is a lot to be said about using round tube instead of oval in the strength department!

If you make the bones stronger you only shift the damage into the chassis.
Better to have a fail point thats cheap and easy to fix rather than the whole front end distorted.
We whacked the front right and all the damage was two wish bones .........
If you remember Martin Brundle's massive F1 crash years ago, he said that as he slammed into the barriers upside-down and spinning, he could see
all the wheels and suspension being torn off. He actually said that it was a good thing, as it meant that all the crash energy was being spent doing
just that damage, rather than destroying his cockpit's safety cell...

If they were properly designed to start with, and the geometry was correct; the wishbones could be lighter, AND stronger.
Too much poor design in the general kit car world. And most of it from so called 'engineers'. Some of them claim 'F1 experience'
as well, for the precious little that means.
