Aussie - 22/7/03 at 09:53 AM

Sorry i'm really new to this - so i was wondering if you can drive them on the road?

It's such a stupid question i'm sure.

Thanks and sorry guys,
Nick

yes they are/can be road legal. when building you need to build to certain regs so that the car will pass the SVA (Single Vehicular Authority/Assesment), its kinda like a big strict MOT where they cheque everything on the car for roadworthyness etc etc.

Ned.

Ummm - just a bit!

The only hurdle to legally driving a Locost on the road is the Single Vehicle Approval (SVA), where an experienced mechanic takes a very close look at the car, using a SVA Manual for reference. If the car passes this tough test then it can be registered for the road.

The same goes for any home-constructed car, whether from scratch or from a kit)

cheers,

David

Damn! Ned did his 'faster than a speeding bullet' act while I was typing!
