For Aintree, Liverpool Motor Club specify a minimum specification of MSA Type A and state that BS6658 type B is not considered suitable.

Has anyone had a problem at Aintree?

Just about any helmet sold today conforms to the basic requirements of a track day - if you want to race then that's another matter.

Rember its the BMF Bike show is next weekend at Peterborough showground.

I got two brand new Gold Stamp ACU approved helments for £30 each, plus a load of other biker gear, as I have no windscreen at all on the Viento.
It proved its worth on the way home from Stoneleigh, as I got drenched about 6 miles from Home but did manage to dodge all the other showers on the way home.

I got a 'Nitro' one on eBay for less than £30 - quite a good helmet too and has ACU approval

Picked up a dainese jobby at my local bike shop in the sales heavily reduced.
Was planning on getting a bike at the time, but building my own car seemed a better idea.
Still, it'll come in handy as i'm going the aeroscreen route!

I got a Nitro helmet at my local bike shop for £35. It's crap for misting up but I only use it at the moment for the 1.5 mile Moped trip to the railway station everyday.... yes i know, moped blah blah......

When i get the car on the road i may need to look for something a little better that won't fog up all the time - and yes i have tried anti fog sprays and all sorts - none work properly

Dave, I think you will find the demisting system works fine at normal road speeds - a moped just wouldn't be fast enough
