Good to hear you have it running now, what did you find the problem to be with the ECU?
Have you managed to get it to run reasonably well on the road? You will find that once you get into tuning the megasquirt you will be constantly tweaking it and trying new settings until it is how you want it to be.

Well , it failed first try - directional tyres on the wrong way round at the back and no split-pins where the handbrake connects to the drums - nipped home , sorted those and had a quick fiddle with the fuel and it ran loads better going back for the retest

I can see the laptop staying in the car for some time !
