Hi Guys
Im spending the day going over my new purchase, yesterday I noticed that the pulley (on the left in pic) wasn't sitting well as the bolt was at
an angle to the pulley, well I tightened it up a touch and it wouldn't turn so I took it all off and the bearing doesn't go all the way
through the centre so if you tighten it you're actually squashing it and it had a couple of odd washers placed behind it I assume for spacing.
What have you guys used, any ideas other than making up a fresh pulley?
Thanks, Yodi
I don't see why you need the left pulley, you should be able to just buy a smaller belt unless that's the only way you can tension it of course.

Hmmm - is there an alternator?

+1
Do away with it and get a shorter belt.

Looking at the route of the belt if you remove the top pulley you won,t have enough belt to wrap around the water pump pulley.

But its the left pulley thats being suggested to be removed, not the top one!?
Its the left pulley, which is already off, new belt fitted and running lovely
Nice one, bet it looks alot better too.
I think so

This is the new idler/bracket set up
It doesn't take much driving on the water pump.
Isn't there room for the alternator on the other side? I'm doing a tiger Avon but have mine on the other side.
Its something I am going to look into but its working well at the moment, I think I'd need a smaller alternator and still dont think it would fit
with the throttle bodies
