Hi guys, has anyone got any pics of a Phoenix with a full cage? Need some design inspiration ( having one made ) , now I have just hit 40 some self preservation is finally kicking in....
Couple of pictures of Matts car...
Here are some pics of our design...
Padding is the proper FIA spec stuff. Infills and sunscreen are carbon. In hindsight, the front needs to be a little lower.

Not a fury but similar is our Tiger GTA which we had Matt at Procomp do the cage for, lots of pictures here:

I have an archive of phoenix photos at

A few cages in there. Mostly STM ones like mine, but a few others.
Personally I am in two minds about my cage.
It is definitely a good thing for safety, but it does look like someone has dumped a child's climbing frame on what would have looked like a
pretty car.
that was what we liked most about Procomps design for us, it seemed to suite the car without looking like it had been dropped on top of the body

Also they don't seem to have the side impact bars I would like to see.
One I made for a Fury

Cheers guys, got some inspiration there! Like parts of several, but none exactly! Think I know what I want now. I actually do have some side impact bars for mine, bolt in but never fitted them, will do soon.

they look nice,
what do you use to fill the cage void in the middle and how is it attatched?
The cage on the Red Fury looks nice, but i'd like the front hoop more curved and slightly lower than the back. Also I fancy two semi-circle top hoops a-la the Caterham cages otherwise access will be tricky. Does not have to pass circuit racing regs at the mo so that should be adequate pour moi.

I got bored of the full cage, so trimmed the front off so just have a braced bar now.
Prettier and saves 12kg.
