I think id have given more than thumbs up, and maybe a nudge as a thank you in to the next bend...
that is actually quite funny. More than a little dangerous though and definitely not acceptable behaviour. People don't understand the risks in racing anymore, thanks to video games.
He should get a race licence endorsement for that.
dunno - were they mates having a laugh?
Saying that, it was mad and dangerous. In my new fury spec, I'm going for arm binders as well, which would mean you couldn't get your arms
outside the car anyway, what with them having the potential to rip off in a collision and roll.
I believe they are mates judging by the thumbs up and comments, don't know whether the stewards would have even noticed unless he reported it.
Maybe its tit for tat, he may have done something similar. If not I would be letting the air out of tyres on the next race.
that's genius!! although shouldn't be condoned of course, but bloomin swift thinking on the white cars part!
EDIT
thinking about it, a few years ago when watching the MX5 pilots, they would have tweaked the mirror along with both NS wings, the door, tailing and
probably a suspension corner or two as well, so they are definitely playing 'nicer' these days lol

That's gotta be worth disqualification from the race for unsportsmanlike behaviour even if they are mates.
Small beer compared with bike racing stunts. Hitting the other guy's kill switch or getting a helping hand by pulling on the other bike's grab rail, stealing the keys from your neighbor's bike on the grid... Folding in a mirror is hardly criminal.....
Dangerous and irresponsible? Yes.
Funny? Yes, gave me a right giggle.
Would have been better if he put it right at the next corner though.
We were in the paddock when they came in, was very amusing. You spend a lot of time on Hangar Straight in an MX5, you get bored easily and have to do
something to keep you entertained
James said all he could see in his mirror for the rest of the race was himself
