Hi Fellas
I'm one of the organisers with Trackaction-Online, we are a trackday forum and we
also organise track and driftdays which are open to our members and to other club groups.
We're off to the awesome circuit at Cadwell Park on March 27th for a trackday on the full circuit . This will be an open pitlane event
with limited numbers to ensure maximum tracktime and we are including free instruction for anyone that wants it, current lineup of instructors
includes ex-locost racer Dom O'Donnel and Formula Ford racer Stuart Jones.
For those that haven't had the pleasure, Cadwell is one of the very best circuits in the country with it's wide range of corners, cambers
and gradients it's a mindblowing introduction to circuit driving for novices but still has plenty to keep us experienced trackmonkeys coming back
for more. To see what the circuit looks like from behind the wheel, CLICK HERE!.
If that isn't enough to tempt you then let me say that for Locost forum members the cost of this event has been dropped from £150 to just £125
for the full day . Passengers can be signed in for £10 and extra drivers for £35.
This is a well priced club event with lots of track time available so if you'd like to come along or want to ask any questions please shout up
and we'll get the bookings and discounts sorted!
Cheers

just watched the video footage of the atoms at cadwell, have you noticed the oil spillage/concrete dust line? it starts before the start line &
goes into the paddock entrance beside "the mountain" i bet whoever dumped that much oil on 3/4 of the track was popular??
sadly i won,t be going as car not built yet but it is a great circuit, i raced bikes there, the mountain is great fun.
have fun if you go.
andy
good track, good price.
<3 Cadwell
looks good, great price but its a proper trek for me. Might go if the lydden day doesnt happen due to weather
BUMP!
Anyone up for this?
Hi Steve
I might be up for it depending how the work load is going and whats happening with the races / testing etc.
Trouble is i have a customers car in and i am thinking he would like it back for that day also i imagine.
Cheers Matt
There's one thing I can never understand with most trackday organisers which really boils my pi$$. Why is there almost always an additional cost
for extra drivers? Seems a bit daft to me. Other than the cost of an extra couple of plastic wristbands, where's the additional cost for the
organisers?
Phil
Good point Phil, thats why we need to book with companys who give free additional drivers, and passengers, and free Instruction, for example with the
above "special offer" £125 if there's another driver £35 and you have a passenger £10,then if your on a track that you or your other
driver have never been on,there's another usually around £25 for 20minutes instruction, total cost £195,not such a special offer
I try to use Circuit days when ever I can, they always knock at least tenner off if there's 2 or 3 of us booking at the same time, they have for
example a Cadwell on the 10th of June which I have penciled in for £149,I could get that for at least £139 if a few of us booked, with free extra
drivers,passengers,and instruction
http://www.circuit-days.co.uk/index.php
Hi Phil & Paul
The answer is simple, if people bring an extra driver along the car tends to be on track for a lot more of the time and so we need to allow for that
in the total number booked in to try to ensure that there will be no queueing - a regular problem at some supposedly open pit trackdays and that
really boils my pi$$ . If it reduces the total number of entries we have to regain that income to cover the costs and it doesn't seem fair
to hit everyone when only a few people bring second drivers with them.
One extra driver doesn't mean one less car that we will book in but we have to take account of it. If it's a sessioned day then fair enough
cos you've bought a certain amount of tracktime but with open pit if you bring someone else along to drive it's a fair bet to say that the
car will spend a lot more time on track as a result and that can effect the other drivers who have paid the same entry price as you.
We don't charge for instruction and most people don't bring a second driver with them so we try to give them the best price we can. If you
do want to bring a second driver and you both split the cost you've just got the day for £80 each, sounds like pretty good value to me .
TBH, different TDOs choose to go different routes on these questions and that allows everyone to choose what suits them best but if you think it is
blatant profiteering to charge for the extras when the basic entry is so cheap on a limited numbers event then you should try running one of these
days!
Steve H
PS Matt, I'm expecting the car back well before then
Hi Steve,
I don't quite agree. If I bring another two drivers and split the total cost between us, that's £65 for a third of the time available and in
reality the car wouldn't get any more track time as a result.
I don't want to get into a debate on this thread but I do think it's a good point for discussion so I'll start another thread on this
subject.
Phil
I agree it's worth the debate Phil so I'll join you on the other thread .
Meanwhile if anyone wants Cadwell for just £125 please shout up....................

Steve, to enable me to make an informed choice, how many vehicles is this trackday limited to?
Phil
We've set a maximum of 60 cars for this event.
Seriously tempted by this.
But as I'm at Cadwell in the middle of April I don't think I'm going to have the time / money
Mike
Quick bump
Still some space left on this one!
noise limit please.
very interested in hellfires idea of an open debate.
tony
105db and we have less than ten spaces left on this now so shout up sharpish if you do want to come!

Spectating at most trackdays is free, unless someone states otherwise..
We'll be there is this Civic:
Oh, and if you fetch a helmet, you may be able to blag a ride with someone.. not us though, no passenger seat.
Well, I'm saying we'll be there, but at present the car is on axle stands with no front suspension, awaiting bits...
Have a good day at Anglesey. The NSSC championship Pete is doing in the Honda, isn't going to Anglesey this year, but they have just added an
Oulton day.
Good luck screwing it all back together. I ran out of talent and brakes at Oulton and binned it into the gravel at Shell Oils. Ooops. The only upside
is they have banned suction mounts at all MSV tracks so there's no footage of my mishap. Only a couple of witnesses that I'd just
overtaken.
The brakes just need a bias valve. Should be fitted this week.

No damage, other than gravel rash on the paintwork?
I think my most feared corner on all the circuits I've done, has to be Druids at Oulton. The thoughts of Pete belting in, three abreast in a race, does make me shudder!
Fully booked for this event now so hoping for a nice dry day

TA-OL
Starting to watch the weather forecasts. Rear tyres on the Civic have seen better days, and definitely would'nt cope with a downpour. Just
tried a couple of Toyo suppliers and 888s seem to be a bit scarce..
Here's hoping we get a dry (ish) one.

We've just had a cancelation for tomorrow so if anyone wants a day out now's the time to say!
