So off I toddled to Stafford to check out some cars similar to my Luego Viento (in kitform at the mo) and perhaps take some reference piccys. I took
a picnic to apease the none to happy girlfriend. After briefly walking round the show and seeing a V8 Viento parked up with no owner I decided to
take the car to a more quieter part of the showground. I back my car out of the space and proceeded to trundle towards a quieter section. Unnoticed
by me was the 12 inch curb down at the end of the parked cars. There were no other curbs like it from the grassy parking spaces to the tarmac roads.
The grass had grown over the curbs until it wasn't that nocticeable. All of a sudden the car crashed down a foot drop and was beached. Drive
wheels off the floor but with just enough grip to smoke when torque was applied. My golf was stuck fast. All of the weight just crashed down onto
the underside and it was stuck!! It was a almightly crash!!!!! In my head I am thinking 'stump damage? Gear Box? Fuel lines? Exhaust? Chassis
Damage? My Picnic went everywhere spilling dip and breadsticks in the rear footwells! Some nice fellow kitcar people tried to give me a lift but to
no avail. Tried wedging it up, nope, applying torque! Then a nice man car with a 4x4 and pulled me out. Luckily there seemed to be no damage as the
chassis sticks lower than anything at that point. Thanks VW!!!
I didn't get time to thank the guys for trying to lift me out as I was busy and in a bit of a flap. Thanks even though it didn't work
fellas. And to the guy and his wife who towed me, cheers mate, I owe you a pint, if your ever in Lincolnshire!
We got in the car and drove home incase there was damage, I'd rather breakdown at 4pm than 7pm on a Sunday. I made a brief stop at the Viento
and discover the man who owned had vanished taking his Viento with him. So zero reference photos for me! 4 hours driving for nowt then!!!!!!

Bad luck
I was planning on going to Stafford on Sunday as i have never been there or any Kit Car show.
Show a nice notice on the entrance of the building on Saturday.
"You will not be able to have access In or Out the Multi Storey Car Park from 7.00 til 12.00 because the roads will be closed due to the Cancer
Research bla bla bla "
I even had managed to convince my wife.

Sorry to hear of your teibulations mate, as said above the car was most probably Snuggs. He was most probably back at his tent packing that away ready
for his 200mile journey home.
I am sure that between the Photo archives of Snuggs, wilkingj, Paul (Notts), perci, simonk, who have V8's on the road and the likes of NeilP and
myself who have smaller engined vehicles on the road, most if not all of your queeries could be solved. Just ask, we are here to help.
JGG (Clive)
I must admit my faith in humanity has been restored by you guys on this site. All so willing to help. Cheers Fellas
P.S At stafford did anyone notice the small gage train track in the corner. There were a few men trundling around a small track on 4 foot long
trains! Incredible detailed things they were. They had a miniture train turntable and they spent all day chugging round and round. Totally
fasinating for half an hour!

I did exactly that in my Polo at Wheels Day a couple of years back, except it was only about a 4" curb! The problem being that my polo only had
about an inch ground clearance at the time.... luckily mk2 Polo's weigh bugger all and a few well built passers by managed to lift/push it back
again!
