I know it will be weather permiting as usual, and for myself wether i can be bothered to tax the car come the end of december.
As long as you dont get completely twatted new years eve its a nice open club meet with all sorts of cars turning up.

The link doesn't lead to very much detail...
"Event Details
January 1st 2010
New Years Day Gathering
All classic, vintage and veteran cars welcome! Parking in and around the Paddock for these cars..."
What is there to do on this gathering, or is a tyre kicking and gossip shop?
Simon
Simon yes its tyre kicking and talking rubbish like normal but you will be parked in the museum so so plenty to see, have a look around the museum
site.
The only downside its now £9 entry now and thats per person, the tea/coffee is pants and expensive so bring a flask.
I enjoyed this last year, except it was a trifle nippy, to say the least. So wrap up warm. and like Bob says if you don't want to queue up for
overpriced refreshments bring your own along....
Probably see you guys there.....
Geoff.
That sounds good weather permitting. Im working 7 days from monday, new years off then a further 3 days. Might be a lift to the crap christmas I'm expecting!!!
Well i've purchased some rent and stuck the expensive piece of paper on the screen, so lets hope for a dry new years day
Optimist mode on/:
.....not looking too bad guys, sunny with maybe the odd bit of sleet.....
off/
Yep, seems as if the weatherman has his optomistic hat on - now to persuade SWMBO she fancies a drive out.
Hopefully see yous there.
Cheers, Pewe
Weather far more possitive than a few days ago, looks like a T total new years eve for me again
Well, I won't be there as I do intend to get completely twatted tonite.
Have a lovely day there chaps
Still unsure about it :-/
Have put some air in my slow punctured tyre and will keep an eye on the forecasts
What time are you guys n gals thinking about rolling up there?
Regards
Rob
I'm aiming for about 10am...
I'm pretty sure i read the gates open at 10am,but i have been there earlier.
Rob, i'll have a can of foam/puncture repair in the back of the car
'pends when I'm up!
btw, where is the entrance for our cars? I see from the Brooklands website:
"Entry via the Campbell Gate off Brooklands Road for pre-1973 vehicles, whose occupants will receive a discount of £1 off our usual
admission prices. Parking in and around the Paddock and on the Finishing Straight for these vehicles.
For those just turning up to look at this wonderful display, as well as the rest of the Museum and its exhibits, there will be parking in The Heights
off Wellington Way."
From the pics posted further up it seems like sevens are inside???

Oh dear..... now I feel BAD, very very BAD .......
Didn't manage to get me rent, and we had peeps round for dins.......(and they have only just gone... )
So I/we didn't make it
So.......2 of our customers went and we didn't know they were taking their cars.
The ex-Savage.........well.....all mods and metal work and engine fitted by our work shop aka DLT it only went back to the customer the day before
Chrimbo eve......
The XK120 was totally restored by DLT and engine built by him too .... that was the 'baby' that was totally untouched in the fire in 2008
...... and had pride of place at Goodwood and Cowdrey for the XK 60th in 2008.
Now perhaps you can see what a blimmin' good 'teacher' I have ......and how, compared to his work. my car is total caRp.....
Hence I don't talk much about it.....
So, I am really sorry guys, for not getting there........
Fozzie
I'll let you off foz.
Happy new year to you and stu.
The owners of the XK and the cortina only had praise for stu's work and rightly so,they both drew crowds and the little sticker with with
stu's company name on was taken note of by some jag entusiasts
Thanks Bob.....And a very Happy New Year to you (and all) from DLT and me....
Coffee on me next time.......gotta pay me pennance.....
Nice to hear that people were looking at the XK..
I have some before and after shots of both cars somewhere.........
Sadly, we had no input on the retrim of the ex-Savage, and we didn't really like all of the badges (shoulda been refurbed) going on
it...but....it's the customers car, and his word is 'it'.
The ex Savage is not usually our 'brand' of work, but, he is a 'mate' (does our transport), so it was more of a favour ....
XK's and E-Types are the most 'usual'.....
Fozzie
Fully thawed out now, took several steaming mugs of caffeine and a hot bath till I could feel my fingers and toes again
Top day out :-)
Stu, your handy work was drawing quite a bit of attention....and deservedly so
The Jag and the ex-savage looked absolutely stunning, hope they get the drool marks off
Sweetpea died and would not re start after getting to the beginning of the driveway and had to be pushed the last 2 meters
If your going to have a full on 'aint going another inch under its own steam' breakdown, thats the place to have it on a day like today
:-)
Think something bad has happened to the battery -gassed out or cell gone? either way the gauage was showing rock solid 14v during my glances so will
investigate tomorrow I think a drop test will be quite revealing
The rest of the shakedown test went OK, just the throttle cable adjuster rattling loose at the throttle bodies end mid overtake in the twisties at
Hindhead...teach me to forget to nip stuff up
Was good to get out in her again and meet up with you guys
Regards
Rob
Rob.......
DLT (Stu) says... 'Thank you most kindly!'
Fozz says.......He taught me well......and yes, my car IS total caRp when you look at his standards!
The trouble is, when I look at my car, all I see are my mistakes, but I did have great fun learning so many new skills whilst also learning that
special work-shop ritual of chucking spanners at walls whilst chanting in a very strange language!.....
Sorry to hear of Sweetpeas woes, and hats off to you for driving that distance in her this morning.
We had a heavy frost over night, so much so that on the roofs it looked like a smattering of snow!
Glad you are now thawed out......
Fozz
HNY to all.
'Fraid I didn't make it either.
Frost around Reading held on for too long.
Did manage a run out with SWMBO early pm to the Phoenix at Hartley Witney and gave them the benefit of a drive-past.
Road conditions were either good or atrocious (partic. on the bits shaded by hedges etc which were lethal).
Hope the weather improves soon as I'm suffering severe withdrawl symptoms.
Cheers, Pewe
