A while back i posted up a topic about a run out to scottingland / borders - i did a reccie on the trip - too much main roads so decided to change the route to a big circular of the north east. Comes in at 346km starting at Stokesley high street and finishing at Rushyford arms.

Route goes down the chop gate road to helmsley, taking the back roads to easingwold, ripon, masham, leyburn, hawes, kirkby stephen, penrith, then coming over the west approach of hartside going east, alston, hexham, blanchland, then back down the A689 towards bishop auckland and rushyford.

I've nearly finished the tulip route directions and think that the best time for this would be the weekend of the august bank holiday - sunday.

anyone interested should let me know and i'll send out the map and directions in the near future once its complete.

im working out now the fuel stops so theres no worry about running out and of course food stops!

sounds like a good trip, just one thought, wont the small roads be busy with caravans and the like on a bank holiday weekend?

will do - been starved recently of good runs out - time for a blast

August bank holiday is the Oulton Gold Cup. There's a ne7ers run organised for that weekend...
