Will be participating in this to see if I can rectify the thrashing No2 son gave me at the Abingdon Carnival last year.
Starts at 0930hrs and finishes about 1600hrs.
Venue is Martinique Parade Ground, Oakhanger La., Bordon, Hants. - nearest postcode GU35 9HF.
Signed off the main Farnham road with usual Orange triangles.
You'll regard Nissan Micras in a whole different light once you've seen them three wheeling around the cones!
Anyone-else going?
Cheers, Pewe
Il be there giving this its first soloing:
Will look out for you!
Is this the same as what I called Autotests. Individual timed runs around a series of coned courses?
I completed 25 years ago, had great fun, made a lot of friends and won a few trophy's. Maybe I will over inflate the rear tyres on the works Golf
and give it a go again. Sadly not this Sunday as karting.
Loggyboy - c u there - weathers looking good..
Martyn - similar to Autoest but all forwards i.e no reversing or handbrake turns (well not in mine).
Also a lot easier entry as no need for comp licence and also less wear as there has to be a right angle turn every so many metres
thus keeping speeds down (though it's not slow by any means).
Entry only £35 - how much driving fun can you have for that nowadays?
Cheers, Pewe
Some good examples of Solos:
Video my brother made:

Me ragging my wifes old Clio (this was a tight event that did benefit from some handbraking!, and I managed 1st in class )

Looks like great fun! How did you get on?
I managed 3rd in class which was good. Frustratingly I was only 3 secs of 2nd place, and I caught (well rolled over the base of) a cone on 1 of the tests which cost me 10 secs. GRRR
Brilliant day out - very friendly bunch - it helps that you are either driving, marshalling or spectating so unlike a track-day where there's
little or no interaction with other participants you get to meet people.
Course was tricky for novices and lots of us Wrong Tested but it's all part of the learning curve.
Didn't do as well as some ^^ but still managed to beat my son, so there's life in the old dog yet!
Next one we are doing is May 8th at Silverstone - roll on the day.
Cheers, Pewe
