I'll definately be there.

I'm sure The Conrod will be too- he never misses a brekkie.
Can't remember what Jasper said about it.

Fin, I assumed you had the engine by now and that's why we hadn't heard anything from you as you were too busy building!

Cheers,

James

Findlay234 - 9/5/03 at 11:40 AM

Nope, been working away for the last month in the land of clocks and cheese so been able to do nothing, not even contact the guy about the engine, which is really a shame. its ok if the deal with him falls through ive go tmy eye on another 4age and gearbox from someone who was planning on building a kit but decided not to in the end.

cheers

donut - 9/5/03 at 12:08 PM

Now breakfast has been mentioned i'm sure conrod will be 1st in the que!!!!!

Andy

James - 9/5/03 at 12:32 PM

No one's mentioned a time.

Are we doing the usual 10-12(ish) or the more builder friendly 9-11?

P.S. What's the betting that being the nearest I'll still be the latest??

And are we meeting at the outdoor caf' in the big car park or the little place over the road?

Cheers,

James

James - 9/5/03 at 12:33 PM

And does anyone want directions?

James

donut - 9/5/03 at 01:01 PM

Guys, I clicked the map link...then the property link......

WOW....how on earth can anyone afford to live round there?

I couldn't afford to ever live in England again......

theconrodkid - 9/5/03 at 07:48 PM

its drug dealers and accountants that live there, wonder what the price of a breckie is?

donut - 9/5/03 at 08:26 PM

If it's any more than a fiver then it's on you john!!

By the way i hope you are not tarnishing drug dealers and accountants with the same brush!!!!!

Alan B - 9/5/03 at 08:32 PM

So basically you are saying the area is populated by those trying to earn an honest living and......

......accountants..........

donut - 9/5/03 at 08:56 PM

Alan.

Me, suggest such a thing....
Oh, no ......as if............

Mark H - 10/5/03 at 09:02 AM

No really I am. But I'm not a drug dealer, so that's nice.

theconrodkid - 10/5/03 at 11:44 AM

my accountant cant be bothered to get out to see me and makes up my returns as he goes along, sounds pretty bent to me

Alan B - 10/5/03 at 12:31 PM

Just to set the record straight.

All my accountants have been 100% dead honest..................

Perhaps explains why I have to make my own car......

(Mark and Mrs Donut....only joking..)

Ok, went on a quick trip up there this morning.

The two places to eat are both open from 9am - 2pm.

On one side of the road is a small indoor place that sells cream teas, but also all day breakfast and the like.

The other larger one in the main car park has outside seating only and sells baps, burgers, chips etc. ie. more greasy spoon style.
*And you get to see the nesting Blue Tit with 12 eggs apparently!

I guess we could decide based on the weather. Preference on the outdoor one in the main car park unless it's too cold/raining?

Cheers,

James

theconrodkid - 10/5/03 at 03:58 PM

i like blue tits,v nice on toast

The food at the car park one seems certainly comparable if not cheaper to Box Hill. Looked ok too from what I saw on other peoples plates. Didn't eat though!

Jon, I picked up that ali for you- it's nice stuff.
Could you bring that wiper system we talked about at Stoneleigh please?

Thanks,

James

theconrodkid - 10/5/03 at 04:04 PM

ill try to dig wipers out,its buried under a load of gold bars at mo

bob - 10/5/03 at 05:34 PM

I checked the food out a couple of weeks ago and its ok,lots cheaper than box hill as well.

As for the house prices, pretty average really

Well, an excellent time was had be me certainly and I hope the others enjoyed it too.
3 hours talking rubbish about cars, then back to mine for some advice on my rusty chassis by Conrod/Fin and then an hour or so with Fin looking at his new Corolla donor.
What fun!!!

Cheers for the wipers Conrod!

James

Jasper - 12/5/03 at 01:50 PM

Hope to make it to the next one - shame it's bl**dy further away, though it'll be a nice drive when the motors finished - not long now!

I take it the next one is the 1st June??

donut - 12/5/03 at 02:40 PM

Yep, it's a perfect place for the somer months and the drive on the A25 to get there and back is superb and will be awesome in a 7!!!
