I think we should try to do something like this ASAP.
We used to have the Locost Car club (and I guess we still do for insurance purposes) but it's mostly gone now.
As a group we should be able to get some pretty impressive attendance at kitcar shows, trackdays etc... As well as having good discounts etc... from a
lot of suppliers.

I think anybody thats going to the Autosport show in January should make a locostbuilders tie and wear it so we can identify each other
Am I missing something here? Isn't it already a "club", since you have to register, you have an ID and are called a "member".
What more is needed (formal articles of association, maybe?)
As far as ties go, why not buy a cheap plain-coloured tie, print off the design of your choosing onto transfer paper and iron it on. Its suppsoed to
be for T shirts but I can't see why it wouldn't work on a tie. Personally, I wouldn't wear a tie though...

There seem to have quite a lot of folk on here that are building cars from scratch. They cannot simply get their cars valued by a manufacturer or a specific members club for that car. But if this was a club a valuation could be given as such, even if it was just a form.

This is the difference between what we are now, a motley crew who post on a website for which some of us pay a voluntary contribution and a proper club with articles of association, subscription office holders including a treasurer and secretary to record stuff like membership and who has or has not paid, write letters to insurance companies, event organisers etc. etc. Its a lot of work and I think the most of us just want to build/ play with our cars. Chris and Fozzie have more than enough on their hands trying to keep the site running and keeping the trolls out!
It would be good though to be able as a membership to contribute in a more regular fashion for the webspace and upkeep of the site. The main problem is providing sufficient " member benefits" for people to keep paying the subscription as we need to keep the forum as open as possible to get the biggest readership and contributor base.
Mr Whippy do you fancy running a club?
