Bob,
I'm afraid I had to let the head go with the block as when Ed came to pick it up I realised I don't have a big enough torx socket/bit to get
the head bolts off. Do a deal with Ed, the head for the brakes!
Ned.

where is Box Hill?
Sorry Dave,, but it's the other end of the country !! surrey
Jason
Hi chaps,
Just out of curiosity, how many road going Locosts should I expect to see on Sunday?? The previous meeting I couldn't make it due to rain &
no top but I'm looking forward to this one.
Oh, if anyone has a bike fuel pump for sale please bring it!
Cheers,
Alex
Alex,
Varies meet by meet really. The Conrod Kid is always there and Merlin occasionally turns up in his multi-coloured beast and Surrey Dave has been to
the last few. If the Horsham Massive (JMB, Hicost, SteveM) turn up there's another three aswell.
I think the most we've had at one meet is 7 (the one I couldn't make! ).
How's The Isonblade? Have you broken the fuel pump?
Seeya there hopefully, (with or without 'Blade)
James
if its raining us soft southerners turn up in our tin tops, were the sad looking lot talking rubbish and eating food:coolrecent photo)
Sounds like a good'un!
James
Excellent!! I'm looking forward to it now.
Cheers,
Alex
i spose i'll brimg me crimbo cards then
I,ll be there too ... by hook or by jason.
See y'all there.
P.S. hicost did i leave a blue baseball cap in the volvo ??
Anyone going from or passing near the Oxford area? Im without transport at the moment, but fancied popping along, as i havent been to a meet yet.
Of course i would chip in for the petrol and a breakfast for the trouble!
I may be going, but will deff be in the tin top, as locost is in bits, fuel tank out for some additions/welding
and carbs off for a major rebuild, I have just taken them out of the dishwasher (at work) and they look brillllllll
manifold, and some of the other bits look good as well
tomorrow night will be the rocker box, distributor and sump!!!!!!
Nothing wrong with em as long as they know their place in our queue !!
Jason
Can't b there, not very happy
Thats not very good !!! And why not !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????????
Will be there weather permitting ( what a winge bucket!!), been making a different manifold should be back together , I love it out in the garage this
time of year!!!

Anybody going to B'Hill got a spare Sierra steering wheel (or any steering wheel compatible with Sierra column) they could lend me for a few
weeks please?
I want to give my steering a try and it's a bit of a challenge using a spanner!
Thanks,
James
i bought a boss for a sparco type wheel that turned out to be too small for my mountey wheel
i have a sierra wheel still attached to my column you can borrow if you want james?
Ned.
I've got one too James. Let me know if you want me to bring it.
Chris
Hey, I almost forgot!! What sort of time do you guys usually arrive there??
Cheers,
Alex
normally between 10-12. some as early as 9.30
Ned.
9am for the die hards like me
10am is for the lame, and unfortunate that cant make it earlier
'Alez' in case you don't know where to go, It's on the A25 between Dorking and Leatherhead.
Mind the bends, their not called 'The Deceptives' for nothing
Mind you, It's a bit easy now they've narowed it to one lane and reduced the speed limit
Jason
Thanks guys! The weather prediction looks very good if a bit chilly. Oh, I won't be there at 9am unless I fall off my bed at 8 or something!

Nice to see its gone to a happy owner, and nice to see the old car still giving out joy rides too.
Great meeting 4 locosts 2 indy's and a caterham, brilliant for this time of yearwell done lads.
Nice see old and new faces.... thanks to alez for taking me out in his car. Very quick little car

Had a great time this morning, it was nice to meet a few of you guys and see some other cars. I took a very long way home and took in a few great
roads the area between Box Hill and Winchester has. I'm really starting to feel how much the car has to offer now, even though I'm not
taking it anywhere near the limit yet. I think the 2 1/2 hour drive back was probably the most enjoyable time I've ever had in a car, despite the
extreme cold (didn't wear the lid on the way back, just a wooly hat and scarf!).
Hope to see you all again next time...
Matt.
P.S. Waved to a yellow/green car coming the other way at one point - was it one of you guys who were there today?
Nice tidy car Matt neat and functional , well done..
Thanks for letting me take you up the road Ben........................

Is that some sort of Gay code or something???
HE HE LOL
Fantastic morning and a great turnout despite the cold. I bet them up north would be tucked up in some nice warm cosy pub drinking beer! not like us
tough southerners!!

I dont know Andy is it?, I've led a very sheltered life!!!!, perhaps Ned would know!
Sorry dave, yes thanks for taking me out in your car too. Very nice car
Hey hey hey!!
Hi chaps! Great time yesterday! (Apart from temperature..) I went for a bit more fun than I should have and then realized this speed camera sign, I
hope I've been lucky. I wonder how Hicost manages to keep his speed controlled (does he?).
You're most welcome Ben, no problem whatsoever man!
Bob, I've always been like that, I used to drive my V twin 1000cc motorbike much like that in Spain but had to sell it, this car just put my grin
back in place.
Yes that's what I am, a "happy owner", I always dreamed about a car like this (for years), only I didn't know they existed! When I
first came to the UK a year and a half ago I was amazed by all these classics and vintages on the roads, then kits, and finally I couldn't
believe the Locost craze. I mean, road legal kit cars without a kit, with all sorts of engines including motorbike ones, that's just too much so
I had to have one by any means! Also, I was very impressed by the Lotus lightweight approach, quite unique and much in line with my concept of a fun
car.
Conrodkid, honestly, I wouldn't recommend Madrid for christmas, it's bloody freezing there at the moment and raining too, it's the
mediterranean south coast where you want to be now trust me. Still, if you plan to visit Madrid some time, do let me know, who knows if I plan to go
there at the same time and I could arrange something!
Thanks everybody for the warm welcome (if anything was warm yesterday). I had a great time, although I have to say that I was a bit embarrassed for
being the only one who has not built his car himself.
Jasper, too bad you couldn't make it, it would have been good to see you.
Cheers,
Alex
Alex, its great to see the pics of the car and the smile on your face, if u have 1/2 the fun with her i did then you will be a very happy chappy,
don't worry i'm well on the way to been on the road again and maybe a nice sunny sunday next year will see me down there in my new
wheels.
Regards to all you southern shandy drinkers especially "Hicost" look forward to bumping into you at donnington next year and maybe, just
maybe showing u a clean pair of heals provided your heal is healed ok if you'l pardon the pun.
Gutted I missed a good day out - I didn't even make it to work, I've been laid up nearly three weeks now with strange virus - topped off on
Saturday by a day of chucking up.....
Hopefully see you in January if not at a Xmas do b4 - you chaps sort anything out?????

well Ben "Leave it to me and it'll all get sorted" Copeland got fed up with no-one being bothered to help out. I could of just told
you to turn up at my local pub, and to sod off if you thought it was too far. Anyway, Deckman said he was going to sort it out.
Plus not maybe people are actually free at this time of the year !
So watch it James... cos i'll ram that wing i lent you up arse
[Edited on 9/12/03 by Ben_Copeland]
Hey Jon, it would be really good to see you in your new motor, I didn't know you want to make it road legal!

Nah, Ben "Leave it to me and it'll all get sorted" Copeland has really let us all down and (frankly) ruined all of our Christmasses!

First opportunity to say thanks to Alex for the spin in the isonblade. a bit cold, but very enjoyable. I've been off for a couple of days hence
no action from me on here (incase you didn't notice?!)
Ned.
Any one got any pics of sunday, ben have u got any more pictures of your car? Good to see a new indy on the road, will get there soon..
Was going to pop down but couldnt get there, will hopefully make the next one.
Chris, check out page four of this topic, James(Hicost) put a few pics on the page
Jason
Hi Ned, it was a pleasure to take you for a brief spin, it would have been better with a warmer weather but hey, you can't have both the british
sportscar and the spanish weather, that's my conclusion and guess my choice!
Next meeting we will have Jasper around so I won't be the only biker.
Cheers,
Alex
Chris
I have put up some pics from the Box Hill meet in the Photo Archive. Go to 'donut'
Cheers
Andy
