"Donations" Page??
MakeEverything - 20/7/09 at 10:20 PM

I keep getting the donations page more frequently, and there is no link to continue past the page.

Is this intentional?

graememk - 20/7/09 at 10:24 PM

no one will dare comment on this now lol

pay the £5 you tight git lol its worth supporting the site

thunderace - 20/7/09 at 10:27 PM

the guy who runs the site just got a new car

Steve G - 20/7/09 at 10:30 PM

I guess you didnt try a search for one of the 10 or 12 threads in the past 3 days. Quick delete the thread before the Boss finds it!

ReMan - 20/7/09 at 10:31 PM

No the money is needed for a new server.
Or was that servant?

macspeedy - 20/7/09 at 10:33 PM

watsonpj - 21/7/09 at 12:39 AM

yeah but what about the shop

speedyxjs - 21/7/09 at 06:05 AM

Has no-one thought about reading the page rather than posting a new thread?

asl - 21/7/09 at 06:09 AM

Hi all. The way I read makeeverythings post he is asking about the lack of link beyond the donations page rather than discussing the merits of donating.

Hi makeeverything as far as I can remember somewhere on that page it says something like to contribute click here. Just click on the word here. Of course the page may have changed since I contributed so if this is of no help or stating the bleeding obvious I apologise!! Cheers

i wonder how the ppl selling feel about the delay to the total audience they might reach. not really much of a visiter but wouldnt they prefer a selling fee, over a 90% target audience not seeing there stuff up for grabs. even with it being limited and delayed for 24+hrs.....

I think that probably 90% of the most regular visitors are already contributors, so that sort of solves that one straight away.

The problem is that when you get that page up, it doesn't say anything aboutdelayed access to the FS section unless you contribute -

"LocostBuilders is a FREE service, supported by sponsorship, a little advertising revenue, and YOUR DONATIONS!

I operate LocostBuilders in my spare time, with connectivity donated to the cause by my business, NetrinoUK. I make no money from the site - donations, trader's subscriptions, and the little advertising revenue generated goes straight back into maintaining server hardware to ensure the site runs quickly and smoothly with a substantial amount of money coming from my own pocket - money that I would far rather spend on building my car!

If you would like to contribute towards the site's running costs you may do so using the Paypal link below. A single donation of £5 or more entitles you to an exclusive 'Contributor' message under your username to show all other users that you have made a donation. Also, if you are a new user, you can bypass the 7 day/10 posts requirement to post advertisments in the market place (providing you are not a trader of course!). Contributing to the site is entirely optional. When I started the site I made a promise to keep the site a free resource and will endeavour to keep this promise to the community.

Please ensure your username and/or email address used on the site are included within the 'Notes' section when making your payment. Contributions are usually processed with 24 hours however, if your account has not been upgraded with 36 hours please drop me an email. "

Thankyou for reading! Continue to the thread you requested by clicking here.

click where it says 'here', I think thats what the OP means.

trogdor - 21/7/09 at 11:40 AM

It does have the click here link when you are on normal threads but not on for sale threads that non contributers can't access yet.

Its a bit confusing as the page looks the same but without the here link.

:

Trogdor, RobinJ66, and ASL have all understood what i was asking.

I dont read every post, and the only other times ive seen this page before, is when it has the "Click here" option as opposed to the page that doesnt (For sale ads apparently?).

What would help is if it was xplained properly thats all.

Anyone else want to make comment without reading the question properly?

Im all for supporting the website, and i will eventually make a donation though i have my reasons for not doing so up to now.
