Been reading up on chassis modifications here...
http://locost7.info/files/chassis/kitcaranalysis_V2.doc
Which seems to cover a lot of the same ground as cymtriks posts which I have read before (may even be his work?)
I have gone for one inch tubes for the bottom bones, which is easy enough,
also take their point on pure triangles.
I will be redoing the engine mountings and side triangulation (TR1 and TR2)
as they suggest, and in one inch box, also makes for more area for bonding
on side panels.
I will be doing all of the proposed mods under section 3.0
under 4.0, I will be replacing R with 2 Y braces as R will foul the engine.
The bottom rails, C G1/2 and E will be larger, increasing the dimesnsions
of the box is better than increasing the wall thickness, but should I use
38 or 50mm tall box?
For the top rails in the engine bay and passenger compartment, the taller
box would be nice, but might add complication in the dimensions? Not sure
if Im better just using the 14swg (2mm) tube?
Overall I want a stiff, light chassis, my chosen engine is aroun 160kg and is expected to make 300ftlbs of torque!
Cheers
Also, I presume its been tested and concluded that the chassis sides N 1/2 an A1/2 Dont benefit from being larger?
waiting on a price for 40x25 box
sig working now....?

Thank you for your reply mate.
Think im going to 38mm box and leaving the N and A members as they should be in tension.
Looking forward to seeing the chassis
