Welcome to the forum.

Your question can't really be answered as yes or no.
The original locosts used the escort Mk2 solid rear axle. Most later kit cars use the Sierra which is independant (and is also featured in the Haynes Roadster)

They each have their own advantages and disadvantages. Because the wheels are further apart, cars which use the Sierra independant are wider and have a wider cockpit (that may or may not be important to you) Sierra donors are also easier and cheaper to come by

whats the difference with Haynes and Locost???
Can Haynes Race in the Locost series...are parts interchangeable ??

Ben_Copeland - 3/10/10 at 06:57 PM

Haynes is Sierra based, Locost is Escort based. I don't think Haynes roadster would be allowed in a Locost series. But I may be wrong.

Haynes is wider.

Gavinc has modified a locost chassis to take a Sieera dedion not a hard job and yes the the sierra axle is wider.
If you want to race in the Locist series or RGB best you rear the rules several times to find out what is allowed

They are different designs based on different donors. Locosts use Cortina front uprights and Escort rear axle. The Roadster uses Sierra at the font and back. 750MC Locost series is for Locosts only (Original RC book) and are all live axle cars.
