Finished and ready for painting.
Can anyone spot anything missing before I go forth and spray the bugger.
Cheers,
Pat...

And one more for good luck:

chassis earth point
front/rear towing eyes
handbrake bracket
may be there but i just can't see them
i'd add an extra brace under the rear roll bar mount at the very back corners of the car.
and get some spare paint when you have to re-do something
I'm just thinking about a proper cage - you've given me some ideas
Brake pipe brackets?
Exhaust silencer bracket?
Handbrake cable mounts at rear of tunnel?
Propshaft bearing mount?
Again, you might have them but can't really see!

James

Btw, is that a McSorley 'book frame' you've constructed there? As far as I can see, McSorley doesn't seem to show where to add all the various brackets and mounts...?
Cheer guys.
Tab on top bar that goes under the scuttle for 1 earth. Back earth will be bolted through the plate that the lower legs of the roll cage mount to.
Battery (mounted at the front behind the rack) and the lights will be earthed via a bolt through the steering rack mouning flat strips.
Don't want towing eyes.
Handbrake bracket is next to the dash and the lever will be vertical.
Got plenty of spare paint. Not sure what you mean about an extra brace for the roll bar.
Only need one brake pipe bracket for the flexi to the live axle which is hiding there somewhere. Front two will be through the ali panels.
Can bracket will utilise the two bolts that hold the passenger seat on.
Handbrake cable is of the only one cable variety and the retaining plate is there at the back of the tunnel.
Propshaft bearing mount is the 6mm flat plate vertically next to the drivers left knee.
Think I've covered everyting...
Pat...
Sort of McSorley, Book, Stuart Taylor, MK mix.
Pat...
Don't want towing eyes.
Man with westy had his rollbar bent by mad man with tractor pulling him out of the KNOCKHILL kitty litter/mud.
best to have a towpoint for trackdays ect
Ok, towing eyes it is.
10mm solid round welded to the underneath if the front and back lower chassis rails?

How about some side impact protection welded to the cage?
Marcus
Also, how did you bend the pipes for your cage? Do you own some expensive equipment? Or was the cage purchased... (price?)?
Cage was built by MK Engineering for £300 or £350, can't remember.
I'm using ST rear arches so no extra curvy bit needed.
Don't fancy side protection due to your neck thus taking the shock if something hits side protection.
HiCost - I hear you, but the brackets are heavily reinforced - will take a pic shortly.
Think they will do the job.

Trailing arm brackets:
Rescued attachment Brackets.jpg
That looks exactly how mine did pat
Ned.
Thinking of linking the two together with a vertical strip held on by the bolt heads.
Pat...
Might just do that...
But booked the garage to paint on Friday!
Besides, not got any 50mm box.
How about a flat strip from the bottom bolt hole, to the top bolt hole and then bent at 45' inwards and welded to the "flappy" sides
above the top bracket?
Also, any ideas for the towing eye - 10mm round welded onto the bottom of the front chassis rail?
Cheers,
Pat...
buy two rear axle brackets of jroberts!
Just get him to leave in the bit he removes for the axle - voila.
If he posts them tomorrow you might ....... aaah, heck, no you won't its wednesday.
errm.....
3mm strip from metal supermarket and make your own brackets.
Pat, i have lots of 50x50x3mm erw in the garage, feel free to pinch some if you get convinced!
Cheers guys (and Joel)
Towing eyes now added (exhaust clamps as per hicost) and extra flat welded on the trailing arm brackets. Should be strong enough for now.

Yep - METAL READY.
Cheers for the comments my Hicost - if you approve, it makes me fell better!
Started a new thread for the painting.
Pat...
what about some triangulation in the very front of the chassis , forget the tube names
From the pics you are missing.......
some sunshine
And some rear wheel arches ;-)
There is one diagonal top to bottom at the front behind the bones.
Didn't want to add any more and don't want to open a can of worms by discussing it either !
Cheers eveyone.
My "built by committe" car will be finished soon.
