When rivetting the chassis to attach the floor panel should I drill right through the chassis frame or just through the bottom 'skin' if you catch my drift

just drill through the first layer off the chassis, so the 2 mm ali plate and the 1,5 mm from the chassis, that's all

Yikes... yes, what they said. You drill through two surfaces total. One is the sheet you are attaching to the car, and the second is the bottom surface of the square tubes on the floor. Do NOT continue to drill all the way through. It is neither needed nor necessary.

Be worth buying some skin grips to help you (small temporary clamps that pick up on rivet holes, used in the a/c and m/sport industry. That way you can take the panel off after drilling and de-burr all holes (except the inside of the tube!!). For the floor you'll need approx 5, the more the better.

Make sure you turn the chassis upside down before you start, makes life alot easier!!
