Pinto Engine Location

Hi guys,

I recently downloaded a number of drawings showing the location of one locost builders pinto engine, it shows that the engine centre lies 6.5mm to the N/S of the chassis centreline. Is this correct? I had always intended to fit mine with the centres in line.... Perhaps this is to allow for better weight distribution???

regards

GW

6.5mm is not going to affect weight distribution any amount worth looking at. He may have done it for clearance reasons. As long as it is straight in the chassis and the prop flanges run parallel to each other it's o.k.

The pinto starter motor and the N/S engine bearer tube try and occupy the same space with the engine central, also there is precious little room for the alternator on the O/S!

Worth looking into before you weld anything! Rescued attachment DCP_0577sml.jpg

I used the taller Sierra rubber and made the mount straighter to clear, you could angle it forwardsto get the same effect. Rescued attachment left mount.jpg
