hi anyone no of any plans for a single seater on the net iam just want some ideas of the size and layout. iam going to adapt it to suit.

i want to have a go at building my own ive started building my locost at work.
and my garage is started to be built so when its finished ill have somewhere for another project lol. ive seen an all alloy body single racer at the westfield strorage unit so i might ask if i can take a few measurements off it. and make the whole car from alloy.

I would n't build any chassis from aluminium as it will fracture as the chassis flexes.
An aluminium monocoque like the elise is about the only acceptable way to use aluminium if you want it to last.

An aluminum monocoque can work, it's just a matter of designing it correctly. It's all about material thickness, how close the rivets are, and how much force is fed into the chassis. Unfortunately there aren't that many engineers who know that stuff on here - I'm not one of them.
