How low is your sump?
Thinking about it - 29/8/07 at 02:40 PM

I will shortly be positioning my engine in the chassis in order to sort out the engine mounts.

It is a CVH (XR3). Into a book chassis.

The height according to the westfield world site is about 1cm different to the Ford Crossflow.

Do you think it will need the sump shortening?

What is the normal / acceptable protrusion of the sump below the chassis?

Valuing your answers as always.

From the bottom of my sump to the asphalt is 80mm.... Some run less, most run more

How stiff is your suspension?
Shortened mine so the lowest point of the sump is level with the bell housing, will still add a sump guard/skid plate as get you home insurance

About 4.25", about 1/4" above the frame rails. It's a really bad idea to have the extremely critical sump drain as the primary rub strip for the car.

About 500 mm
It`s on an engine stand
