Asked for 25mm x 25mm x 1.6 ERW

They said 1.6mm isnt common,is this correct?

You were ripped off.
I got some from a decent tool/steel shop in Cambridge (Mackays) and I'm sure it was around £10 for 4m a year ago.

Steel stockholders are much cheaper and while prices vary a lot depending on when you buy, £60 for 9m is mad (unless you had them cut it into a lot of shorter bits - they often charge a lot for doing more than one cut).

1.6mm is 16swg (as near as dammit) i.e. imperial measurement. 1.5 is the metric equivalent.

Wont make any difference for a locost chassis.

Except it will be slightly lighter

hmm, i did have them cut it a lot... maybe that was it. I'm sure it was near £60 though.
i'm probably wrong. i barely remember last week never mind a year ago

You didn't got to metal supermarket, did you? Now they're a rip off...
