Has anyone with the old mk indy chassis replaced it with the new type R chassis.

How many parts are interchangeable, for instance- steering column and rack extensions/ rear wishbones/ coil overs and springs/ cycle wing brackets ,etc etc???

And morally what would people think as it would now be technically a different car, being re chassis-ed on the same number plate as the old chassis.

Haven't done it (considered it though).

Indy R wishbones are all different and I suspect the shock length/spring weghts/rates may be different to account for inboard suspension changes.

Other than that everthing else should fit staight on.

Regards chasis, reg and SVA - I don't think I'd have a problem doing it - personal choice though.

As nick205 has said wishbones,shockers,springs,are all different,also the rear uprights are different,the steering rack is slightly shorter,I am sure yours could be made to shorter though,the link bar from the rack to the bottom of the steering colum is shorter as well,again though yours could be made shorter,would be well worth the effort in my opinion though,you could sell on your old chassis and wishbones,and shockers etc,to get back some of the money you have spent on the new chassis,also your car would be worth more,being the spec R version.
Morally can't see a problem,your only changing a mk chassis for a mk chassis,as you would if the car was involved in a accident.
