goood looking! where did you get the tubes from? and how did you do the fishmouths?
Gonna be good when its done
Al
the cage is from mk
the fishmouths were made by using a cardboard template rolled into a tube
(so it slid over the tube to be cut)
the tube was then marked and the angry grinder got to work
i hope that makes sense i find it really hard to but things into words
i tried making my own wishbones, did fishmouths on 8 tubes by hand with a file... ended up not using them because of a complete change of plan

Lookin' Good!
I ended up setting up mine by eye. have fun welding.
that looks great, how does it mount to the chassis?
just that i have a welded on roll bar, and like the look of the fully cage.
as well an indaction on price if you do not mind?
thanks
stuary
ive got to chop my rollbar off and weld on the new one as mine tapers in at the top
the front legs of the cage (near dash) are welded to a steel plate which will be sat on top of some 1" box
ive read that its alot stronger to mount it in this way.
a little update
my rear panel is off along with my rear arches (i hate sikaflex)
the tank has also been removed
then i set about the rollbar with mr angry grinder
i will try to get some pics tomorrow night as im tacking the new cage in place and playing about to get it looking right
also has anyone got a pic of where the rear stays fit either side of the fuel tank??
thank you
I did mine like this.
Hope it helps.
David
thats spot on thank you very much
a few pics of what ive been busy doing

also in covering the bodywork with damp towels to stop sparks etc eating into the gelcoat
even tho im painting it this weekend
Looking good mate. Decided on a new colour yet?
yes mate its all ready
think brawn
the lagging will soon be black
apparently it hurts when you bang your bonce on the steel tube
hope you like. bodywork will have to wait until it rains
Look really nice. Well done. Padding is a good idea as trust me it really hurts!!
i need some lagging for both sides (top rails only)
it was my youngest brother who cracked his head
at least the bump has gone today
that looks nice.
after some time trying to decide on colours i have finally started get the colour i want
so hopefully this weekend it will be completed and i will be able to post some piccys
Really nice thread this, well done it looks the bollocks.
Does the lower front leg of the roll cage not eat up drivers leg/knee space a lot?
Do you have any pics of how its mounted at the front end?
it does take up alot of room yes
ill get some piccys later on
