Hi

I have a new set of longer side panels for my Indy so need to make the holes for wishbones and steering rack etc.

MK told me they don't have a template. Does anyone on here have one to share?

Even photos would help to calm me down about this.

My tip is that due to the shape of wishbones [ie triangular] that when you use a hole cutter you need to be off centre to the bracket to allow for the entry angle of the wishbone.

ie the rear hole centre forward of the bracket
the front hole rear of the bracket

I know, as clear as mud...

mine had sort of scratch marks where the shapes need to be cut. Have you had a close look? I then masked over and traced the scribe marks with pen then cut them out.

If you get desperate my panels are off at the moment so I could take measurements.

Hammerhead, I just went running outside to look at my panels but unfortunately no scratch marks. Would you perhaps be kind enough to draw around yours on a bit of paper? In return I could offer paypal funds to buy a pint?

A big piece of cardboard is what you need mark the holes were you think they want to be and cut them out if wrong adjust the holes on another bit of cardboard

i'll have a look at it tomorrow, maybe i can draw round the shapes and scan them then send to you as a pdf file so you can print them out and use as a template.

I'd second Jacko's method.

Used a cardboard template, simples you can cut slots in it to allow you to position it without taking the wishbones on and off..

If you fit the shocks without the springs you can then check that nothing clashes with the full suspension travel, and also at extreme stearing positions.. I then found a problem with to much steering lock (different issue!) and clashes with the wing stays.. Might be worth checking this at the same time..
