Im still not sure which seats are better.
Im thinking about the raceseats from Westfiels but they are very expensive. On the other hand, the seats from MK look very nice too but aint they a
litle hard for your but when you drive around for a few hours ?
can't really comment on the westfield seats cos i don't think i've seen them but i was having a look at the mk ones yesterday, they look perfect for what they are made for but yeah i would have to question how comfortable they are on a long trip but then again how comfortable is the car going to be on a whole for a long trip
Depends entirely on how much natural padding you have. We have the MK fibreglass seats which are surprisingly comfy. I've driven our Locost on
and off for two days round a circuit and have found it perfectly comfortable. Once you get some speed up the you skip over the bumps anyway.
Cheers
hey up
sparco make foam seat inserts for their seats, have seen them fitted into MK seats, looks dam nice so long as you get the colour scheme right!!
abd a cheap alternative to westie bitz!!!!
bob
How do you get in touch with Sparco, for the pads?
the pads i've seen are made from underlay sheets for camping cut to shape
i gos some bubbly seat covers like grannies use, nice n comfy and couple of quid each
but when i only use the hard shell seats wont my but feel as hard as the seat when i drive around for about hours on the road ?
Marco
I find them to be very comfy with no "sore butt"
Marco,
I've been in de the MK seats (well, actually the original Caterhams) for a whole day, touring in a V8 Rush (unfortunately, as a passenger). I was
really suprised by the comfort. Soo, when I found out MK supplies them, I just had to have them.....
Oké, thanks for your reply's.
Im going to buy the MK's
Greetings, Marco
Ive had many happy hours in MK seats thinking there great. But after upgrading to Intatrim Odyssey they totally improve the ride, decrease in noise and vibration are the first things you notice esp in a high reving blade. Comfort factor for me hard seats are a NO NO. Treat yourself!!!
I've had some padded covers made for my early type MK seats, should take out most of the vibration and give a bit more comfort, cost very little to have made up by a local trimmer.(see my archive for photo)......
Some people use the camping carry mats, as someone said, also someone used some neoprene (wetsuit material) just find someone who has an old wetsuit they dont mind you cutting up.
