MK fuel tank?

Hi everyone, havn,t been on the site for some time {been too busy building} {not}. Any way she,s coming on slowly, but i,ve got a question to ask!! The MK fuel tank. Correct me if i,m wrong, but i take it that looking from the rear of the car, the pipe on the left front of the tank is the fuel supply, and the right hand side one is the breather? If i am right, then how come that the right hand pipe {suspect breather} does not enter into the tank? IE: you can,t blow through it!!
Could it just be a manufacture cockup??? Thanks for any help.

You just need to drill it through if you want a breather pipe.

Cheers Rich. Thought as much, but wanted to make sure.

I'm putting a non-return valve in a tube above the tank on mine.

I've used a Rover 216 tank valve (little red and black plastic thing) came free when removing internal fuel pump.
A lot of lads have just used bicycle innertube valves, just as cheap and easy to get hold of.
