Looks realy nice. I like the cage.

shortie - 24/3/05 at 10:12 PM

thanks mate, originally saw the cage on an MK car when I visited, at first I thought a cage would odd but now I really like it!

Rich.

Is the cage from mk then. How much did they charge for it, if you dont mund me asking?

Its been something ive been looking at.

shortie - 24/3/05 at 10:39 PM

yep, built into the chassisby MK although I think fozzie has the same cage but bolted in. I paid about £350 for it although their site says £400 now. I had mine made slightly higher as I am tall and need it that high for racing.

I think it looks really cool in this pic

I count 6 guys, one car and not a single beer. You certainly aren't from around here.....

David.

nb. looks great, I like the cage too...

Looking good Rich!
Yep you are right my MK cage is bolted in, I wish mine was higher now, its gonna be close getting the 2" space between helmet and cage!

indykid - 25/3/05 at 01:10 AM

i want a full cage now! and a bike engine

mine doesn't even have rear stays, oh woe is me.

tom

ps, your wheels are on back to front

Avoneer - 25/3/05 at 07:52 AM

Does the front upright for the cage not get in the way of your knee?

Looking at the wheels you're probably right that they need to swap round, I didn't check whether the tyres were directional.

Cage front stays are fine and don't get in the way at all as they kind of bend backwards a bit, only pain is that you need a thin dash as otherwise itwon't fit between scuttle and cage.

I think I will also get some bolt on side impact bars for racing, probably the most vulnerable point on the track.

Glad you all like it, better get going and get it finished for the summer!!

Rich.

Fozzie - 25/3/05 at 02:57 PM

Yep, after driving mine for 9 months now, I can confirm the stays do not get in the way at all!

Another good reason for having the 'bolt in' cage is that I could take it out whilst I made and fitted the dash and re-fettled the 'wonky' scuttle!
