I have the sierra cigar cylinder brand new
2 to the front 1 to rear
only prob is rear locks up first
anyone shed any light
I thought it worked straight out the box
all calipers are new sierra ones etc

Have you got discs on the rear?
Problem is the sierra has a lot more weight over the back end than a 7.
You will probably have to fit an adjustable brake bias valve, or you can get one from a fiesta that screws into the master cylinder, these are meant
to work well.
The sierra uses a bias valve to ensure the rears dont lock up first
so what shall I get

we bled the system all worked perfect but now wev'e took it for a good run there was no air when we bled it but the brakes have just gone shite
now after a long run
all fluids are ok etc so I think ill rebleed them

Tillet racing bar? Is that an adjustable bias bar before the m/cs? if so you will need 2 m/cs one for the front one for the back.
Its prbobably easiest just to fit the fiesta bias valve, im tempted to take off my willwood bias valve and fit one as i have no way of easily pinning
it for SVA. Although someone told me the other day that is the bias valve is out of reach it doesnt need to be pinned. Mine is next to the diff so
should be fine.

yes its just an adjustable bar 1 in 1 out didnt realise I needed to have 2 M/C's
Fiat Uno bias valve.
Easy, light, 20 quid- sorted!

Even simpler a Mondeo bias valve screwed into the master cylinder outlet --- easy to get off a scrapper --- cut the pipe and unscrew -- remember to cut the pipe as you need the tube nut off it -- different thread.

i didnt have to lock mine becouse he said it was out of the way.mine is above and to the right of the diff.
Are the brakes bedded in yet? Surely first questions first...
We have no brake bias valve, we never on our previous one either. No problem with rear lock-up's once bedded in.
Gotta say the same. I have no brake bias on my Indy, but I got drums on the rear.
I do have a valve to the back brakes, but itīs fully open and have never been used.
drove 70 miles today no change but will rebleed the brakes first as they got softer on the way back

chris,bleeding it should sort it out and you could also check that you back brakes arnt binding a little

yip with the willwoods on the rears locked up first,if you use willwoods your best off going the twin master cylinder route.
the bias valve works but its just masked the problem,the brakes stop me but theres no feel to them.i have to put a lot of pressure on the pedal.
Just a thought as my rear disc set up does not need a bias valve...Is the Sierra M/cyl new or new old stock? If new old stock could be fitted with 20yr old seals.
