Ok I was looking at my handbrake cable last night and apart from being to long it also looks imposable to fit. It’s an MK chassis with two tubes for the cable to go through but the plastic adjusters prevent the cable being fed through them. How does this work??? Has anyone got a picture? Oh yeh it's sierra rear calipers at the back
Have a look on our website in the Build and Rebuild sections. I'm sure there will be some photographs along with a description.
Phil
thanks dude, just printed it out, much to the moans in the office. Quite a lot of pages!
Cheers.
You need to cut the cable in half between the two sheaths. The feed it through the tubes and trim it to suit length wise.
David
and then clamp the cable to itself to keep the sva man happy (use two on each side)
cool got it now, I'll pop into B&Q and sEe if I can get some cable clamps.
thanks
I shortened the handle of the handbrake by about 5cm, so it doesn't look so damn stoopid.
I will be adding these pics to my website next week.
I shortened my cable by cutting the nipple off at the brake end, fed it through and welded the nipple back on.
Works fine.
Stu
thanks stu
Cos I'm using disks at the back the end of the cable is not a plain nipple but a kind of square eye hook. I don't know what kind of metal it
is but I think I could make a steal replacment with a slot along its length so I can weld it to the cable. I'll post some pictures when I've
done it.
Cheers.

Phil,
Just phoned MK. They have replacements for £3.50 each. Apparently the ends have grub screws to clamp onto the cable (think I'd solder it aswell)
so that seems the way to go. Cool.
Thanks.
You could solder it, although the grub screws do hold the cable well and also makes it re-useable should the cable snap. It makes a neat job of the
handrake cable too IMO.
