Im looking at building an indy (with ZX10 engine) but spotted the 'new car' on the MK site.
ive spoken to MK and the new car is about £700 more expensive than the indy, is it worth the extra money or not?
the new car is meant to be a lot more rigid and have better camber through the entire range of travel.
which do i go for? if money was no object then i would go for the new car but im trying to keep the cost down as im also saving for a deposit for a
house aswell.
so which do i go with?
Go with the new car
In the scheme of things an extra £700's not alot
Youll regret not doing it right that scrimping from the begining
its a bit like buying xp now that vista has come out i suppose

...although most experts are recommending not going for Vista until all the initial bugs are fixed (6 months or so...)
Go for the new kit.
Phil
If it were me, I'd go for the new one.
Stu
The new kit is meant to be lighter, stronger and handle better - it's worth the extra in the long run.
or buy a gtr.
I went for the old one (last week). I'm not going to push it enough to notice the difference, but mostly I prefer the look of outboard suspension
Go for the new chassis, you knows you wants it I did, I just knew that if I hadn't then when i started seeing them around on the road/shows i'd annoy me that I didn't. If you really want to make life difficult for yourself try and stick a car engine in it too...
i was going to out an xe in like you but decided to go for the zx10 due to output yet still small. this cars going to bee used on a track mainly so practicality isnt an issue (eg reverse) and the sequential shift one one of the biggest selling points for BEC over CEC
The new spec-r chassis is the one to go for.
http://www.fullframephoto.co.uk/Video/donnington-run-11.mov
this with a bit of luck should be a link to a clip, the yellow indy is the mk1 and the black one infront is the mk2, this was filmed at donnington,
and i.m pretty sure that it was me in the passengers seat in the mk2, as i remember passing the avon at the that time and the driver (dannys dad...
sorry dont know his name) took me round for a forth lap and pushed a bit harder superb bit of kit, its the mk2 for me. Its only money....just do
it

Yeah, the tunnel is a lot tighter towards the front and the engine bay itself is a wee bit shorter, mine has had the bulkhead moved back 3"
compared to a 'standard' BEC chassis to allow it all to fit. I have to take the reverse light switch off the gearbox to get it into the
tunnel it's that tight

that would be Steve "the electrical wizard" Keenan.
Chris
I was taken out in the new Chassis last week by the kind gents at MK. Cornered really flat and was surprisingly comfortable (reminded me of my old
VX220 but not quite as thrilling).
Am hopefully picking up the donor parts this week and the kit in May. Just need to speak to Malc and get my ZX10r
Cant wait!
