Hi, I am building an Indy with 2.0 Phase 3 Blacktop Zetec and am just putting together the engine mounts.
I dont have a bonnet yet so question is how high can the engine be above the top chassis rail and still get under a standard MK bonnet? I am obviously trying to maximise ground clearance and am still yet to modify my sump.

Mine [phase 3 1.8] is about 150mm above the chassis rail, and the bonnet fits on just right.

Thanks Stu, did modify you sump (the lower steel part) to get enough ground clearance?

Hi

I'm in the process of modifying the sump. Without chopping it the ground clearance would be about 50mm, so I've taken another 50mm off it.

Just need to finish welding it and refit it now.
