Murray/Haydn how wide are they where it matters please Image deleted by owner

DaveFJ - 18/5/06 at 03:19 PM

Pretty damn narrow if they fit an Avon - I would guess under 340mm.....

VanHaydn - 30/6/06 at 11:09 PM

Mac#1 have them on the website as:

MAC#1 composite race seats (untrimmed) £130 each

http://www.mac1motorsports.co.uk/parts_dept.htm

As a matter of interest did anyone measure them?

jimbona - 3/7/06 at 09:24 AM

that seems a little expensive, i was quoted £80ish for untrimmed seats.

Mac#1 ones or somewhere else? The price is similar to other high quality GRP seats that don't need trimming.

jimbona - 3/7/06 at 11:01 AM

have a look at these.

jimbona - 3/7/06 at 11:02 AM

without padding i remember them being about £80 and with padding it goes to £140ish each. these are brand new.

iank - 3/7/06 at 11:25 AM

Those are the one SMB was offering aren't they?

He posted these prices a while back (bit more than he seems to have quoted you), but hasn't been around for a while.

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=42906

Some comments along the lines of well made, but not suiting everyone (too laid back) were made in the last thread he posted to.

Have you looked at Triton/MK seats? Though they are roughly the same as Mac#1 on price. Another option in Aluminium are Kirkeys though they are imported from Canada/US so are a bit of a pain to try out - some of the autograss suppliers stock a limited range. Making your own ally ones is possible there are even some plans on the web.

Let us know whatever you get - always interesting to have options.

jimbona - 3/7/06 at 12:44 PM

they are the ones offered by SMB...

i'll have a read of the article link in a minute..

Do you have a web address for viewing Triton/MK seats?

I have looked with google although I wasnt able to fine any really.

These are the prices, quite good i think although Im looking for something a bit cheaper or second hand.

£97
£169 w/padding

Triton was a regular hear until his wife got sick. Do a search to find lots of pictures.

MK seats are on their website http://www.mksportscars.co.uk/parts.htm
price is £117.50 inc vat.

Kirkey aluminium seats are http://www.kirkeyracing.com/

Sold by http://www.bpgrassing.co.uk/
and http://www.randallmotorsport.co.uk/
(and demon tweeks IIRC)
