Ok, following on from our "Another newbie" thread,
1st inspection of out new project reveals that the front wheels have +ve camber instead of -ve, even when the top ball joints are screwed in to the
minimum with no lock nuts.
I would guess that its got sierra hubs rather than the preferred cortina ones.
What are required modifications to get the correct camber?
Can I slot the bottom wishbone holes to allow the base of the wheel to swing out more?
Cheers
Daz
This can happen on Avons. Check the top wishbone dimensions carefully. Sometimes they do not allow the top ball joint to be screwed in enough. I definately would NOT slot any hole anywhere in the suspension system. HTH
I spotted that he put sierra hubs on before as when i brought my part finished avon i had the same problem the easy fix is get cortina ones they can still be found at some scrappies.
Better still make 75mm wider ones. The handling will improve. The track will be the same as the rear.
