Buying a propshaft
DaveFJ - 5/12/06 at 06:55 PM

Just looking for a propshaft for my Pinto powered Avon.

Tiger want a fair bit so was going to look into having one made up by one of the specialist companies.....

So my question is this - are the dimensions in the Avon book correct ? and also has anyone had one made and can recommend a supplier?

cheers

Mine came from dunning and fairbank Good service also.

Measure from the tip of the box/output shaft to the diff flange and give them this measurement, theyl work it out from there.

Once saw dammage how much a flailing prop can do luckilly on a v8 buggy so some way away from driver.

MY mnr has a new one on and even with the exrta Prop / tunnel hoops dunning and fairbank even sorted out the odd conversion boss for the BMW box

Got mine from Congleton Propshafts about 18 miles from me.

Around £90 but I collected it.

I gave them the old spline and uj's but they threw them away and made new ones.

They have actually moved to an address around the corner, I'm sure they'll tell you where if you phone 'em.

Just had a reply from the people who make the Carbon propshafts....

£700-£800 eek!

I suppose that's quite reasonable really - just beyond my budget
