silly question 'bout rear wishbones

I've finally got round to building the rear suspension. The metal bushes go where exactly ? I'm guessing they go on the bottom wishbones where the hub carrier is connected. Am I right ?

Do you have rose joints at the bottom rear wishbones?

Yes, rose joints on bottom bones connecting to the chassis.

I used the metal bushes in the lower wishbone although I know some have used them in the upper wishbone both inboard and outboard....

not much help I know.....

Good question. I've seen examples on here of people doing either way. I've also seen people putting wishbones on either way round. I'm going to fit them and see what it look likes before I start messing about further.

for now I connected up the rose joints and saw where they naturally wanted to sit then packed them to that position.... I realise I may need to adjust this later....

I have my metal bushes on the top bone on the hub carrier. There is a pic in my archive. There is a reason for them being there, but for the life of me I cant remember. Its been a while since I fitted them. Lots of swearing, big vice and long bolts required to fit them.

Ah sorry, Yea I have used stainless tube as spacers. The spacers are to the front. Not the easiest things to get in. And then a pain when trying to get the geometry set up. Specially the passenger side. All my rose joints are fairly much screwed all the way in to the wishbone to get wheels sitting vertical.

I used stainless tube as packers. but later when the car was built i had to readjust one side a mile as it was nearly 2 degrees out. Manufacturing issues me thinks

BTW the TVR is basically a glorified locost with a body and V8. The suspension is almost the same.

No B.S. the guys on this forum are much nicer than others. Down to earth and more helpful.
I might just have to get rid of the TVR and start another project. Thinking about a Busa of ZX12 middy.

Just to confirm, the metal bushes do go in the top wishbone outer tubes. Reason, the other bushes do not allow the hub carrier to fit in place.
