is the manifold for a 1.8 different to 2.0?
jimbona2 - 23/3/07 at 05:17 PM

does anyone know whether a 1993 1.8 Zetec manifold fits a 2 litre zetec? not too sure whats the actual difference, if any in the actual fitting.. cheers

I'll presume inlet manifold ?

1.6/1.8 the inlet manifold and plenum is slightly smaller than the 2.0.

The fiesta boys fit the 2.0 zetec but loose room at the bulkhead,so they swap for the 1.6/1.8 and and put the 2.0 throttle body on it. (Throttle body needs a bit of pursuation to fit)

I was at chrisw's a couple or three years back and saw one running like this being controled by megasquirt.

Jimbona2
What engine have you got? 1.8 or 2.0

The mondeo 1.8 and 2.0 inlet manifold is the same, only don't know if the maf and throttle body are different

The reason I know they're the same is that 1.8/2.0L is cast into the bottom of the plastic manifold.

Escort manifold is completely different and there the 1.6 and 1.8 are the same as there's no 2L zetec available in the escort, only the rs2000 engine and that's just a 16v version of the sierra dohc engine.

Jimbona2 has a series one silvertop zetec i think, the black plastic manifolds are on the later engines.

why the question ?

1.6 and 1.8 are the same, 2.0 have larger (better) trottle body, so you have to use 2.0

I am talking about mondeo inlet manifold, escort coul be different
