great drive,sticky tires,engine light

Well i took advantage of the great weather and went out to scrub the new r888s in, very slippery for the first 10 mins (thanks for the tip mattc) but they just got better and better .......until i got scared, managed about 50mph on a local round about with the old rubber, now can do 60mph and its me that is the limiting factor not the car or tires.
anyway during the drive and on a couple of occasions before the engine light has come on (R1 2003 5PW) sometime when just cruising thru town at low revs -4k rpm and a couple of times when shes hit the limiter but the weird thing is i can make the light come on if i pull away hard and smoke the tires then once the tires catch up with the engine the light goes off ive checked all the sensor connection and everything seems ok. has anyone else come across this before thanks

Are we talking about the oil light here?

no def not its the yellow/orange light with the engine symbol also i dont have an oil light its just for the level on the 2003 r1 not pressure and its to ground thru a resister because of the baffle

Oil level would be affected by your big G's , but I suppose not if its been bypassed ?
