blade starting prob
stupott901 - 10/8/09 at 07:10 PM

hi there
i have been having problems starting my blade engine
it seems to be the plugs as if i put new ones in or clean them it starts ok
when i take them out they black ,wet and smell heavily of fuel

what could be causing this

cheers stu

One (or maybe more) of your float bowls is flooding/overflowing.

Try tapping it (gently!) with a ring spanner to hopefully dislodge whatever dirt or grime that may be causing the float-bowl needle to not sit flush and therefore overflow...

have you messed with the fueling recently? dynojet gone wrong?

Gav - 10/8/09 at 08:28 PM

How old is the fuel? i know mine started to gunk up the carbs but m fuel was 2 years old

stupott901 - 10/8/09 at 08:32 PM

nope not messed about with fueling only changed fuel pipes
and its fresh fuel

britishtrident - 10/8/09 at 09:08 PM

carb flooding ---- ie fuel pressure

stupott901 - 12/8/09 at 08:44 AM

it should not be fuel pressure as i i got an facet low pressure pump 1.5 psi
the fuel is quite new bought on monday

do you still have the choke connected ?

mad-butcher - 12/8/09 at 01:57 PM

Are facets interuptor pumps ie shut down when it meets resistance (float needle closing)
or are they designed to have a return.
