Hayabusa oil cooler pipes
Davegtst - 11/9/10 at 12:50 PM

Got the engine in today and now i need to fit the oil cooler. The cooler pipes need extending to get it round the front of the engine but they have flanges on the ends so i can't just get new ones made. What do people do to extend the pipes?

I tapped both outlet and inlet and fitted hydraulic nipples then just new braided hoses straight on.

i just cut the original pipes down and used some hose with jubilee clips on , never had a problem with them in 2 years.

They look like this. I am very tempted to chop up the original ones so i may just do as you say Bob.

ive got a gsxr k8 my fitting are the same as yours i just mesured each pipe then took a trip to pirtek they sell hydrolic fitting and oil pipe they made them up for me (take your cooler fittings with you they just chop the ends of the fitting and re,use them in on your pipes) dont foget the engine fittings have been machined to take the rubber seal and the cooler fittings arnt machined to take the seal so keep them seprate when getting them made. cost me £45 worth every penny as they use b,s,s, hose and its also b,s,s,printed on the side of the hose.
