I may well be being a bit thick but...Has anyone on here come up with a nice solution to the Fisher Fury towing point conundrum? I'm struggling to find a way of doing it that won't potentially wreck the bonnet (le mans) or the radiator / oil cooler whilst being towed.
Phoenix has a U welded to the underside of the front rail.
It doesn't seem to wreck the bonnet.

Eye bolt through the top of your helmet?!
top of the roll bar? open top racing cars are mostly done that way
Was it just me who read the title as furry towing point? I had images of part of a pink fluffly steering wheel cover hanging out of the bumper
I go through the grille opening on mine (also Le Mans bonnet) and have a U welded to attach to. Bit annoying having to unscrew the grille to reveal the eye, but not too much of an issue yet!

^ seen it many many times at knockhill!
quote:Sure but in RGB we were specifically warned that it wasn't acceptable to use the roll cage and that we needed a specific towing eye. They even started checking we had the requisite internal diameters on our eyes. I see single seaters are OK:

I just carefully went around the chassis near where the bottom right front wishbone mounts, just need t0 be careful that it goes under the
bodywork.
Jim Giblett had helpfully put a towing eye on the rear of the chassis on his Phoenix (that Lee now owns). It was used twice on this years Alps trip
Who says BEC's aren't practical
My car (killed gearbox):
Jim's car (killed driveshaft):
How may shafts does Jim get through lol he broke one on last years Laon trip
He replaced the broken one in Laon with another light weight one (instead of switching to standard) and broke it again in the Verdun Gorge. Then salvaged one from Hobseys car (that was coming home on recovery truck) to complete the tour.
His luck surely has to run out soon!
