Ive been doing some research of late and came across a staggering bit of information on hayabusa.org

on 08+ engine I can connect a home made cable to the ecu and have more mapping control than any plugin could possibly give, all limits can be removed and you can also remove the o2 sensor

I also found out the TRE is completely pointless on a 08+ engine as it doesn't work. as it forces the bike to use the same fuelling through all gears.

why are people using power commanders at £100's of pounds when a simple cable and laptop will do the job.

the software to manage it looks as good as any.

is anybody using it or am i going to be a guinea pig?

I have built the interface for my 07 engine,initially I only used the fault code reading side of it but do now have communication with the ECU properly now.

Just need to grow a pair and flash it to remove the lower gear limiter(tre mod effectively)

The 08 has loads more functions and features within the ECU compared to the 07 and older stuff. You have got to love reverse engineering.

I was amazed.

I was close to spending £500 on a power commander and today ive ordered £22 worth of bits with the plan to end up with a nice femal usb connector and switch mounted next to the ECU.

its brilliant

Very interesting stuff I'll be watching closely to she how it works out before I order a power comander

I successfully reflashed my ECU on Friday and it all works very well

Highly recommended

just got mine sorted got the lead from smithy and ready to flash
