Battery box

Hello,

Does anyone know of a supplier that sells battery boxes to fit an Odyessy PC680 battery? Dimensions(mm)
185 x 79 x 170.

I am wanting a free standing ally box with a securing clamp on top for easy access and removal or something of that nature. I have seen similar type boxes on ebay, but the dimensions are toooo big and don't have enough room to fit a bigger box in, in the space i have available.

What i don't want is just a simple wrap around to which you can bolt to a piece of bodywork as i don't have the locating space in the engine bay.

Thanks

That is a really odd size battery to buy a standard box. Where are you going to put it if you can't screw it down???

BATTERY BOX FOR CHOP,CUSTOM OR STREETFIGHTER. on eBay (end time 10-Apr-11 18:51:38 BST) guy might be able to help.
I have not had any dealings with the seller so cannot confirm good or bad service but he says he will make to size.

I make my own to fit in the footwell very easy to do.

rally design do this one http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=692_1363&products_id=13602

which fits their redtop 25 battery that is (LxWxH): 182x77x168mm

i want one without the wings on the top but it may be ok for you.

It might be more sensible to look for a plastic/GRP box.

I have the same odyssey battery, and plan to just make a clamp from two long bits of studding, a few nuts and washers, and a piece of ally.

Makeeverything....yeah i think that is probably what i'll end up doing. Its one of three design i was considering. Unless i got my dims wrong the box rally design do is just a fraction too small and i dont want to blow the best part of £30 finding out really.

Cheers

Give me a shout if you get stuck.

the dimensions i gave are of the rd battery. the battery box is slightly bigger. the PC680 fits in the rd battery tray. i know because i took mine down to rd and tried it. i just didnt like the wings on the top as they rubbed against my boost pipes. im going to make one on the weekend from ali that is similar but less bulky. if you want i can take a picture of it once it is made and and if you like i will make another for you for the cost of the materials and postage.

Exactly what I've done, OK I went a bit mental and used a piece of (small) box section instead of ally, satisfies the MSA scrutineers so it must be good

Finished off the battery box tonight. Its not the prettiest thing in the world but its functional and weighs next to nothing. lined it with foam to hold it nice and tight.
