Mac#1 Worx ZX10R turbo - engine mapping results
SausageArm - 26/7/11 at 10:29 PM

I've been down at BigCC Racing in Wokingham yesterday and today to have the ZX10R engine setup on their rolling road.

Here's a video from early on yesterday of the car being ran up while the fueling is adjusted for the low boost setting of 6psi.

The finished results from today are shown below, the blue line is 12psi and the red is 8psi. The graph is power and torque at the wheels

Sean at BigCC Racing was telling me he would like to map more kit cars, so if anyone is interested give him a call.

That's a lot of power, how did you control clutch slip?

Also the exhaust is from the opposite side, have you any photo's of the install

The engine has a lock up clutch kit fitted to it, which consists of a plate on the end of the clutch basket, this plate has weights attached to pivots, as the engine rpm increases these weights are thrown outwards and because theyre attached to the pivots extra force is applied to the clutch plates, which helps eliminate clutch slip.

You have a U2U Mark.

hi i remember our zx10r turbo mk our results where 222 bhp @ wheels at 7 psi never ran any more than this as was well enough on the road and track,

but we wzs getting 280+bhp at 9psi,

will depend on temp conditions also and sixe of intercooler,

nice car to drive though and pulled like a bitch,

good luck and have fun,

the only issue we had in the end was the manifold craking at the the turbo flnage just be aware of this,

all the best and good results

SausageArm - 27/7/11 at 10:07 AM

Thanks for the info, what manifold were you using?

Also, who mapped your car?

Where are you taking this off from and what bits are you using? I want do to this with my ZX10R. Currently got a custom machined take-off plate for oil cooler but it retains the standard filter.

SausageArm - 27/7/11 at 02:48 PM

The engine runs a remote oil filter relocation kit from BigCC Racing, as the standard filter location was right where the turbo needs to be, this is the kit below

http://www.bigccracing.com/shop/product.asp?idproduct=302&source=thumb

To the remote oil filter plate I added a Peugeot 106/205/306 GTI XSI Mi16 oil cooler take off plate with thermostat built in, like the one in the ebay link below

MOCAL OIL COOLER TAKE OFF PLATE PEUGEOT CITROEN RENAULT | eBay

I then piped up a 13 row oil cooler to the sandwich plate, you can see the oil cooler between the radiator and intercooler

hope that helps

hi ran a veloity racing turbo kit form the states manifold was part of the kit, but it broke 2 times,

TCS a local person to me done the tunning and he is a skyline specialst in tunning etc,

just watch your cooling with the rad in that position, i had the same set up and water temps went very high, couldnt get enough air through to it,

we ran a cossie 4x4 intercooler top mount in the end and was perfect intake temps and cooling then

car looks very good
