I have a 5VY, the engine number is N509E009627 - can anyone confirm the year?

I can't be exact, but I do know the 2004-2005 engine had a silver sump and the 2006 had a black sump. May not be what you need to know, but may be of some use.

Other than that you can phone a dealer, or even the Yamaha Technical Dept. ath their UK head office. They should be able to help.
