Fireblade Noise

Thought I would check how load the car is, as I was planning on doing a track day soon.

So borrowed a meter from work just reved the car up to 7500 rpm and the meter showed 115db

How can I get the noise down as my local tracks all have a limit of 100db?

The car is fitted with a 919 Fireblade engine, a standard Aires supplied exhaust and a AB airbox, I have already repacked the exhaust.

Do I need a new exhaust? If so could someone recommend me a supplier

I don't undertand.
same engine with oem modded airbox and repackable silencer on my Fury.
Very low sound, largy under 100db.
What is your silencer size ?

The silencer is 5 inch diameter and 570mm long

Each end of mine was quiet, the overall noise however was not as you have thin body panels and the exhaust and air filter are close together, even standing between the exhaust outlet and engine knocked a few dB off.

I fixed mine by taking the exhaust out the back, separating the exhaust rumble from inlet and general engine noises, before being so drastic try pointing the outlet under the car rather than out the side.

Seems strange to me
We had an american cat, a standard seconhand bike can , put a db killer
in it before fitting the bend & trim.
At IVA this gave us 97Db , my meter had the same reading as IVA man's
After IVA took off the cat & Db killer, still gave us 98DB
Have now changed to an R1 silencer which still gives 98Db but a more acceptable noise.

mine is 570*6, no noise.

115 dB is ridiculous, that can't be right.

As probably you most relevant guide my car 919 with AB performance airbox and an Akropovic exhaust can on the end of an AB manifold was measured at Mallory and was 103dB at 7-8000 rpm.

You need to measure it at 1m and 45'angle from the tailpipe.

115db would make your ears bleed.
