Cheers in advance Danny
Either your battery needs a charge or the starter motor is just not man enough. Is it a reduction starter motor? Ideally they need to be a 4:1 ratio otherwise it just aint going to budge. However, this is all assuming it has never really worked before.
I've been told it has worked in the past. The battery seems fine as it starts the car first time every time.i really need to get the tunnel off and have a look at what kind it is .maybe the old fashioned tap with a hammer maybe in order ha!
looks like there's play in the output shaft which may have buggered the brushes...
i hope its not one of those mega expensive motors sold by the manufacture.. I have a polo/golf 1.4 in mine so easy and cheap tp replace should i ever
wear it out..
It looks like a Hitachi geared starter, first thing to do is jack the car up with the driven wheels off the ground and measure what happens to the battery voltage when the reverse starter is operated.
I'll report back over the weekend about voltage drop and starter type.Im all new to this kit car mularky so it's taking time to get into d I y mode again after owning so many reliable modern boring cars.
